Fill Your Hearts With Christmas Cheer

Even though Christmas is still months away, we’re hearing Santa’s sleigh bells here at BURKE! Why is that, you may ask? Because we’re gearing up for our 11th Annual Toys for Tots Golf Tournament on September 24! Giving back has always been a part of our culture, and in 2010 we founded the 501c3 organization A Big Heart Foundation as a way for us to give back to the Charlotte community. Our primary fundraising effort is our yearly Toys for Tots Golf Tournament and the majority of money raised through the tournament goes towards the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation.

Toys for Tots began its journey boosting holiday cheer by gifting toys to less fortunate children in 1947. Their primary goal is to help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children through the gift of new toys.

For the past few years, working with the U.S. Marine Corps, BURKE has been able to invite a group of children from Hope Haven to our partner toy store, Toys & Co., and shop for a Christmas they would never forget! Each child was given a $250 gift certificate to spend on toys of their choice. Moments like these are what propel us forward year after year.

We would not be able to accomplish all we do without our amazing sponsors! Through their generosity, we have also been fortunate enough to partner with a select number of charitable foundations in the Charlotte area that benefit children. The list grows every year!
